My practice includes ceramics, printmaking and painting, focusing on the investigation of the light, colour, shapes and patterns in the world around me, and seeking to communicate the feeling and energy of a specific place and moment.

My subjects are almost always related to the landscape or natural forms, but while my paintings are usually produced in the studio, they are based on many sketches made in the environment.

In this way I like to capture the memory of the experience first-hand, then interpret my initial thoughts in a range of media, using layering and mark making to produce rich and interesting surfaces, expressive of the natural world.
